ABSTRACT
Motor Vehicle Testing is the activity of checking motor vehicle components to ensure they fulfill technical and roadworthy requirements. Periodic tests have the aim of providing vehicle safety assurance and supporting environmental sustainability. One part of the test is testing the intensity of the headlight beam. One of the abuses committed by drivers is the addition of lighting instruments that are too dim or bright so that they dazzle road users, as a result, it can cause blindness to blindness shortly after the light is emitted and can even increase the risk of accidents. This research uses a data collection method with the Research & Development (R&D) method which will produce prototype of a headlight tester tool to determine the distance of the lamp with test tool. The results showed that the design of a functional tool is good and works according to the initial design that has been made.
