ABSTRACT

Traffic jams are an impact that occurs due to human use of vehicles. The increasing use of private vehicles all the time is one of the reasons why traffic jams often occur in Indonesia. In dealing with this traffic problem, the Indonesian government took several actions to handle and prevent traffic jams. However, in taking solutions to traffic jams, not all parts materialize according to what was planned. The aim of this research is to compare the traffic jam solutions used in Indonesia with the traffic jam solutions used in various countries. This research shows an in-depth explanation that the majority of solutions to traffic jams in other countries are sticking to the implementation of public transportation. However, in this case there are considerations regarding transportation management in each region which results in different congestion solutions adapted to the conditions of that region.
