ABSTRACT

The ability of a vehicle's brakes, also known as brake efficiency, is the ability of the vehicle's braking force to be compared to the weight of the vehicle in percent units. The ability of the vehicle's brakes has a significant correlation but is best compared to the cargo or goods carried by the vehicle. The greater the load or load distributed on the vehicle, the lower the brake efficiency. Motorized vehicles, especially goods cars whose purpose is always to carry cargo or goods or even experience overload when operating on the road, make it impossible to test their braking ability. Based on the above thoughts, the calculation was decreased using the experimental method and then regression analysis so that the formula equation was obtained: Y = 90.6 – 0.088(x). The reduction analysis of the regression calculation can be used to predict the brake ability or brake efficiency of an overloaded goods car type vehicle by converting the independent variable (x) in the form of load or load (Kg), which is the excess load carried by the vehicle to the empty weight of the goods car type vehicle.
