ABSTRACT
First-mile travel is a growing transportation field issue that needs to be addressed in South Tangerang. This study examines determinant factors, within socio-economy and travel-related aspects, towards access mode choice in the context of commuter trips in South Tangerang. A revealed preference data was collected through a cross-sectional survey, obtaining 98 commuter responses. The multinomial logit model was employed to estimate the access mode choice model, which comprises three alternatives of access mode: public transport, private vehicle, and ride-hailing service. The result shows that public transport remains perceived as a non-reliable access mode compared with private vehicle and ride-hailing services. Such recommendations based on the evidence were addressed in the current study to provide more reliable and integrated public transport in South Tangerang.
