ABSTRACT

Ease of accessing public transportation services refers to the convenience, practicality, affordability, and speed individuals or the community feel using and accessing the public transportation system. This study aims to analyze the ease of accessing public transportation services in Bekasi City using the Sustainability Urban Transport Index (SUTI) assessment method. Efficient and accessible public transport facilitates population mobility, reduces traffic congestion, and increases urban sustainability. In this study, the data used were obtained through secondary data analysis and interviews with related parties, such as the Bekasi City Transportation Agency. The analysis results show that easy access to public transportation services in Bekasi City is still not optimal. There are constraints, such as inadequate infrastructure delays and unscheduled schedules. Based on SUTI's assessment, Bekasi City obtained a score of 21.779, which indicates performance that still needs to be improved in several aspects, especially in terms of accessibility and efficiency. Recommendations for increasing ease of access to public transportation include improving infrastructure, increasing the frequency and reliability of services, and providing better information to users. This study provides a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities that Bekasi City faces in improving its public transportation system. The results of the analysis can become the basis for local governments and related stakeholders to formulate policies and strategies to increase ease of access to public transportation, reduce congestion, and encourage urban sustainability in Bekasi City.
