ABSTRACT
Absolute density is one way of planning mixes by prioritizing the highest (maximum) density; traffic compaction after several years of the design life of the layer will not change its plastic shape. This study aims to determine how much influence absolute density has on the strength of the asphalt mixture in the surface layer (HRS-WC). Based on research on Marshall characteristic parameters with Absolute Density Approach on 2x400 collisions, Composition I produces Optimum Asphalt Content (KAO) of 6.54% with a Stability of 1250 kg, Flow of 3.54 mm, Cavity in the Mixture (VIM) of 3, 4%, voids filled with asphalt (VFB) of 80.2%, voids between aggregates (VMA) of 18.1%, Marshall Quotient (Marshall Quotient) of 260 kg/mm.
