ABSTRACT

A traffic accident is an unexpected event that involves motorists, motorized vehicles, pedestrians experiencing loss and property damage. Traffic accidents can occur in a variety of situations, including on highways, intersections and parking areas. Inadequate road facilities and the age factor are the causes of traffic accidents. This study aims to determine the accident-prone areas and the age of the drivers of the accident victims in the city of Yogyakarta. According to accident data for 2018 – 2021, data were obtained using descriptive methods and secondary data to identify vulnerable areas which were analyzed using the Z-Score and ranking method. The results of the analysis show that there are accident-prone areas on Jalan Jendral Sudirman with a total of 66 incidents of accidents and the age of the drivers of the accident victims shows an age range of 20 – 24 years with 546 cases.
