ABSTRACT

Jl. Antang Raya-Jl. Ujung Bori’s intersection is an unsignalized intersection in Makassar City that has traffic problems and need attention because its activities are increasing day by day, especially mobility enhancement of shopping, office, and business activities that cause congestion. This study aims to determine the timing of the traffic light based on the MKJI 1997 guidelines with 3 signal phases and road widening which results in a service level of C (DS < 0.75). It is planned that the effective road width is 7 meters for each intersection arm with a cycle time of 52 seconds and a yellow time of 3 seconds. For setting traffic lights for the southern arm, red and green times are 39 and 10 seconds. For the northern arm, red and green times are 35 and 14 seconds. For the western arm, red and green times are 33 and 16 seconds.
