ABSTRACT

owadays climate change has already become a global issue. Not only the increase in global temperature, but also sea level rise, heat waves, water pattern change, rainfall patterns changing and intensity. One of the reasons for climate change is the transportation sector that supports logistics connectivity which has an impact on increasing the economy. This paper implemented a narrative qualitative research method, which is one type of qualitative research in which the researcher conducts studies individually or more to obtain data used for research. The purpose of selecting this method is to make a systematic study of a problem and fact by analyzing data and facts, and formulating hypotheses and conclusions about an objective of the research. The results of this paper determine the sector that contributes the largest carbon emissions, comparisons of the need and availability of fossil fuels as well as information based on the effect of climate change on the transportation sector. The conclusions obtained include the need for a global commitment to reduce the effect of climate change, as good as the need for environmentally friendly alternative energy.
