ABSTRACT

East Kalimantan's proposed development as Indonesia's New Capital City must, of course, need a lot of local support. There is no doubt that the effects of Indonesia's New Capital construction vary by region, with those closest to them feeling the effects the most. A single one of them is Balikpapan. The construction of nearby local roads is influenced directly or indirectly by Indonesia's New Capital, both as it is now and as it is planned. This study talks about how Balikpapan is growing to support Indonesia's new capital. The reliability test produced a determinant coefficient (R-Squared) of 0,7569 for the model, which was developed using macro simulation software (PTV Visum). To forecast how the road network will perform once Indonesia's new capital city is operational, modelling is still being done. Twelve recommendations were made as a result, and they will be put into action between 2024 and 2039. The outcome indicated that the vehicle-hour dropped between 2024 and 2039.
