ABSTRACT

Along with the increasing population growth of Cimahi City, parking facilities on the road body in the existing condition are one of the causes of congestion which causes an increase in the parking index and parking capacity and traffic becomes congested and hinders vehicle mobility. So, the planning and design of facilities on off street parking is proposed as a solution to solve the problem in the parking of theGandawijaya Area road body, the study of the need for parking space is planned for widening the sidewalk that takes the parking space on Gandawijaya Street quantitatively knowing the capacity and needs of parking space and knowing alternative areas if On Street parking is eliminated. This research method refers to the Technical Guidelines for the Implementation of Parking Facilities, and the Guidelines for Planning and Operating Parking Facilities. After conducting an analysis, the need for existing parking space currently (2021) as a whole meets the availability of existing parking spaces, namely parking spaces on Gandawijaya Street currently (2021) as a whole meet the capacity of parking spaces and parking indexes on Gandawijaya Street.
