ABSTRACT

Walking has an important role in urban transport continuity. The quality improvement of pedestrian fasilities able to encourage people to walk. Walking is an important form activity both as a means of transportation and as an activity itself. Walking as a transportation is an important accessibility indicator. Cimahi City is a city that prioritizes improving the quality of pedestrians in shopping centers and the Cimahi City Square. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of pedestrian facilities using walkability analysis. Walkability is an innovative concept to create pedestrian facilities that prioritize pedestrian comfort. The results showed that the walkability index for the shopping center area and the North and West Square Areas were good areas for walking. The results of research in the East and South Square Area need an increase in accessibility. The walkability index value indicates the direction of facility improvement.
