ABSTRACT
Automation is often used to save manpower and reduce human error rates. One of the uses of technology automation in shipping is monitoring and controlling pH in the cascade tank on the auxiliary steam boiler automatically. This study aims to facilitate the control of pH and the addition of chemical pH up and pH down automatically. The method used is research and development (RnD). The manufacture of this design uses a pH sensor E-201-C as a measuring instrument, Arduino Uno as a microcontroller, a 16×2 I2C LCD as a monitor to display pH values, and a peristaltic pump as an addition to the liquid pH up or down when the pH is inside. cascade tank auxiliary steam boiler is less or more. The way this design works, there are three measurement indices in the process of measuring pH values, namely pH expressed by high pH, normal pH, and low pH. This tool is expected to be able to facilitate the understanding of students in learning the working principle of an automatic pH controller that will be applied on a ship.
