ABSTRACT
Good braking efficiency is necessary to ensure the vehicle can stop quickly and safely, especially in emergency situations. There are several factors that affect brakes efficiency such as air pressure and tire conditions. This research used an experimental method with variated air pressure (39 PSi, 29 PSi, and 19 PSi) on wet and dry tire conditions and was carried out with five tests and then the average was taken. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The results of this study are in wet tires the brake efficiency increases 16% and in dry tires the brake efficiency increases 13.75% as the air pressure decreases from 39 PSi to 19 PSi. In addition, the tire conditions also affect the brake efficiency. Tires with 39 PSi air pressure the brakes efficiency decreases 34,8 %, 29 PSi decreases 33,75%, and 19 PSi decreases 32,55% from dry to wet tire conditions.
