ABSTRACT
Increased awareness of the environmental impact of the transportation sector encourages the development of alternative vehicle technologies, such as hybrid vehicles. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of hybrid vehicles compared to conventional vehicles in reducing CO2 emissions during the daily use cycle. The research method uses a life cycle analysis approach to compare the carbon footprint of the two types of vehicles. Data was obtained through literature studies, direct measurement of emissions, and surveys of vehicle usage patterns. The results of this study show that hybrid vehicles produce lower CO2 emissions than conventional vehicles during daily use, especially in urban traffic conditions. However, the production process of hybrid vehicles results in higher emissions. In conclusion, hybrid vehicles provide significant benefits in reducing long-term CO2 emissions, although it is necessary to consider the environmental impact on the production phase. These findings can be an input for policymakers in designing sustainable transportation strategies and developing environmentally friendly vehicle technology.
