ABSTRACT
The work from home (WFH) policy has the potential to become a transportation demand management strategy in Jakarta, following its success in reducing trips and congestion during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it may also lead to a rebound effect, increasing new trips from workers residential areas. This article analyzes the potential new trips in Bekasi due to the implementation of WFH policies in Jakarta using a discrete choice binomial logit model to form utility functions through logistic regression, and conducting feasibility, validity, and comparison tests on each utility function. The best utility function selected as the basis for analyzing potential new trips in Bekasi. The study finds that 66.79% of Generation Z and 62.63% of non-Generation Z motorcycle users, as well as 77.55% of Generation Z and 59.15% of non-Generation Z car users in Bekasi working in Jakarta, will continue to travel outside their homes during 5-10 days of WFH.
