ABSTRACT
Side friction is activities beside road segments that can affect road section performance. Sukatani trading area is one of the CBDs with high side frictions. High activity in this area causes traffic performance issues. Addressing these issues requires capacity management proposals considering side frictions. The method used in this research involves calculating traffic, parking, and pedestrian performance based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI). From the research results, the current condition on Jl. Lingkar Sukatani 3 shows a v/c ratio of 0.87, with a speed of 21.42 km/h and LOS E. Side frictions are causing congestion and reducing service levels in the trading area, prompting several capacity management proposals such as relocating roadside parking to off-road parking, restricting vehicle operational hours, improving intersection performance, and providing pedestrian facilities to approach effective road capacity.
